Russian Premier League leaders FC Zenit St. Peterburg have signed 20-year-old central defender Egidijus Majus from FK Ekranas in Lithuania for an undisclosed fee.

The Lithuanian Under-21 international has agreed a five-year contract. However, he will be ineligible for Zenit's UEFA Cup second qualifying round tie against SV Pasching of Austria, having already played for Ekranas in the competition this season - being sent off against F91 Dudelange.
