Lazio The 36-year-old striker has signed a two-year contract with the Biancocelesti after Charlton granted him a free transfer after he voiced his desire to rejoin the club he supported as a boy.

'True Lazio fan'
Di Canio has reportedly taken a significant pay cut to return to Rome, where he will help the development of Lazio's young players, as well as the club's new, inexperienced coach Domenico Caso. "I have always been a true Lazio fan, even when my career has taken me a long way from Rome," he said.

Early days
The veteran striker started out at the club in 1985 before leaving for Juventus FC in 1990. Four years later he switched to SSC Napoli before joining Serie A rivals AC Milan the following season. Di Canio won the title at the San Siro in 1995/96 before moving to Scottish club Celtic FC where he scored 15 goals in 37 appearances.
