• Harry Kane's hat-trick against Asteras Tripolis FC was the third by a Tottenham Hotspur FC player in the UEFA Europa League, emulating the achievements of Jermain Defoe and Roberto Soldado. It means Tottenham have now joined FC Porto and SSC Napoli as the clubs with the most hat-trick scorers in the competition.

• PSV Eindhoven's draw at home to Panathinaikos FC was their 12th in the UEFA Europa League, matching the competition record set by SS Lazio.

• Napoli's 2-0 loss at BSC Young Boys was the first and only defeat incurred by the four-strong Italian representation in this season's UEFA Europa League. The other three Serie A contenders – ACF Fiorentina, FC Internazionale Milano and Torino FC – are all yet to concede a goal.

• Legia Warszawa have also kept their goal intact in each of their three games this term. Including their 2-0 win at Apollon Limassol FC on matchday six of last season's competition, the Polish side have equalled the UEFA Europa League record of four successive clean sheets.

• Raul Rusescu's two goals for FC Steaua Bucureşti against Rio Ave FC lifted his all-time tally in the UEFA Europa League to 12, which places him joint fifth in the rankings. Only Radamel Falcao (30 goals), Óscar Cardozo (20), Fernando Llorente and Giuseppe Rossi (14 apiece) have more.

• Cardozo made his 39th appearance in the competition in Trabzonspor AŞ's matchday three victory over KSC Lokeren OV – just one short of record-holder Eduardo Salvio.

• Defeats for FK Partizan and ŠK Slovan Bratislava on matchday three mean that both teams have now gone nine UEFA Europa League matches without a win – one shy of Standard's record.

• Villarreal CF's 4-1 success against FC Zürich was their ninth consecutive home victory in the UEFA Europa League – only one behind the all-time competition record, shared by two-time winners Club Atlético de Madrid and two-time runners-up SL Benfica.

• Fiorentina's 1-0 win at PAOK FC means the Italian club have yet to lose any of their seven UEFA Europa League games away from home. They need two more to reach the competition high, set last term by PAOK.
