Former Fenerbahçe SK and Turkey coach Ersun Yanal has been announced as Vahid Halilhodžić's successor at Trabzonspor AŞ.
Halilhodžić was only appointed at the start of the season, but parted company with the Black Sea outfit by mutual consent earlier this month. His replacement, 52-year-old Yanal, stepped down as Fenerbahçe coach despite guiding them to their 19th Turkish Super League title last term. He was previously in charge of Trabzonspor for the 2007/08 and 2008/09 campaigns.
"We're starting a new journey together," he said. "I am happy to be here once again. You know the style of football I like. We'll be adding colour to the league. We'll be a team who fight on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes to get a result, entertain the fans, play with a high tempo and with a desire to win."
Trabzonspor are second in UEFA Europa League Group L, having picked up seven points from their first four fixtures. Victory against FC Metalist Kharkiv on Thursday will ensure them of a place in the round of 32 with a game to spare.
