Runje commits future to Standard

R. Standard de Liège have secured a permanent deal for the Olympique de Marseille goalkeeper Vedran Runje.

Belgian UEFA Cup hopefuls R. Standard de Liège have made four signings on transfer deadline day.

Permanent move
Heading the list of newcomers is Croatian goalkeeper Vedran Runje who has made permanent his loan move from Olympique de Marseille last month. The 28-year-old has agreed a deal tying him to the Sclessin stadium until June 2007.

Family feeling
Also joining Standard are Uruguayan internationals Juan Ramón Curbelo, a midfielder, and defender Jorge Curbelo, his brother. The former has penned a one-year contract with the option of a second term, having arrived from CA Fenix last January in a temporary arrangement. Jorge Curbelo, who is three years his brother's junior at 22, comes in from Danubio FC in a 12-month deal.

Youth prospect
The final addition is Serhiy Kovalenko, a 20-year-old Ukrainian youth international who arrives from Juventus FC. He has signed a one-year contract with the possibility of a second season with the club.
