The round of 32 – which kicks off on Tuesday when Fenerbahçe play Lokomotiv Moskva, with the remaining 15 matches taking place on Thursday – is to feature a new game called Fantasy: The Knockouts. The player who scores the most points in the knockout phase – comprising the rounds of 32 and 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final – will win a 'season ticket' voucher for the club they support, allowing them and a friend to attend their team's matches all season.

The new game enables even those players who slipped out of overall contention during the group stage to revive their season with a strong performance in the knockout phase. The scoring remains the same; while in the round of 32 – as in the group stage – you can choose a maximum of three players from one club.

The group stage honours were shared by three players, who each collected 39 points from their first six fixtures. Dries Mertens, with five goals and two assists, was the top-scoring midfielder – but the Napoli man will set you back a bumper 12.0. Up front, Mertens' club-mate José Callejón has five goals and three assists, and is priced at 11.0; Athletic Club's Aritz Aduriz has managed six goals to complement his two assists and is a (slightly) cheaper option at 9.5.

However, aside from the stars already excelling in the UEFA Europa League like Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Tottenham ace Harry Kane, a plethora of new faces are entering the fray from those clubs parachuted into the round of 32 from the UEFA Champions League group stage. Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernández, Lukas Podolski and Yacine Brahimi are just some of the names out to make an impact in the next few months.

Whoever you pick, remember you can make unlimited changes to your 15-man squad before the 18.00 deadline on 16 February – and keep an eye on UEFA.com for the latest team news. Then plot your path in Fantasy: The Knockouts!
