Mourinho's United humbled, Ajax halt Feyenoord

José Mourinho experienced a painful return to Stamford Bridge as his Manchester United side lost 4-0 to former employers Chelsea, on a weekend of busy domestic action for the UEFA Europa League teams.

Mourinho won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and three League Cups with Chelsea, but his old club were not in generous mood as they went ahead through Pedro Rodríguez in the opening minute. Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kanté also struck to leave United seventh in the standings.

Feyenoord are riding high at the top of the Eredivisie, in contrast, yet they dropped points for the first time this season at the tenth time of asking in a 1-1 draw with arch-rivals and fellow UEFA Europa League hopefuls Ajax. Dirk Kuyt spared the hosts an even costlier result with a late leveller.

Elsewhere, Nice kept up their superb form in Ligue 1 by triumphing 4-2 at Metz to remain four points clear, and Roma closed within two points of Serie A pacesetters Juventus. Schalke climbed out of the relegation zone in Germany and Dundalk wrapped up their third consecutive Irish title.
