José Mourinho's side, already guaranteed a sixth-placed finish prior to kick-off, were indebted to goalkeeper Sergio Romero for a number of fine saves, most notably after just six minutes when he stopped Manolo Gabbiadini's penalty after Eric Bailly – suspended for the final – was adjudged to have handled the ball.

I think we worked well, we played well; we could have lost as Romero made some amazing saves but we could have won as we had probably the two biggest chances.
