Germany doubt
Right-back Miguel will miss Sunday's SuperLiga match away to Gil Vicente FC after pulling a muscle in his left leg during Wednesday's 3-1 victory over second division side Clube Oriental de Lisboa in the Portuguese Cup. The Portugal defender is waiting for further examination results, but is considered doubtful the trip to Germany.
Pereira chance
Miguel's place in the side against Gil Vicente is likely to go to João Pereira, who coach Giovanni Trapattoni tried out at right-back during training on Friday morning, or Euripides Amoreirinha, who started in that position against Oriental.
Petit problem
Petit is suffering from a similar problem in his left leg. The midfield player picked up the injury in the 4-2 UEFA Cup Matchday 1 victory over SC Heerenveen and has missed Benfica's past two matches, against CD Nacional and Oriental. He will definitely sit out the Gil Vicente match, but is still hopeful of returning next week. Paulo Almeida is expected to take Petit's place on Sunday.
