Dudu completes CSKA switch

PFC CSKA Moskva have boosted their options for the new season by signing Brazil midfielder Dudu Cearense.

Four-year deal
The 21-year-old has agreed a four-year contract and arrives in a €3.5m transfer from Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol, from where he had been loan at Stade Rennais FC in France since August. "I am honoured to be wanted by a big club like CSKA. I should have joined this team a year ago, but it didn't work out," he said.

Promising progress
Dudu began his career with EC Vitória in his homeland and has been a regular for his country at all levels, having helped them to victory at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates. He played all seven matches at those finals, scoring four goals. He then made his full debut against Chile in last year's Copa América and has four caps to date.

Third Brazilian
The tall defensive midfielder, who scored one goal in 15 Ligue 1 games for Rennes this term, will become the third Brazilian at CSKA, joining Vágner Love and Daniel Carvalho. He cannot be registered for the remainder of the 2004/05 UEFA Cup, with CSKA due to face FK Partizan in the Round of 16 on 10 and 17 March.
