The 33-year-old Jansen comes to Xanthi, fourth in Greece's Alpha Ethniki in 2004/05, on a free transfer from the Austrian club, where he scored eleven goals in 22 games last term. He has signed a two-year deal.

Meanwhile, Lafata, 23, has agreed a five-year contract and also arrives for no fee from Ceské Budéjovice in his native Czech Republic. Xanthi, who will play in the UEFA Cup first round, signed midfield pair Chiquinho and William de Matia earlier this week.
