Striking options for København

FC København have bolstered their attack by signing the experienced forwards Marcus Allbäck and Peter Ijeh.

UEFA Cup entry
Allbäck has been recruited from relegated Bundesliga side FC Hansa Rostock while Ijeh heads to the Danish capital from Swedish club IFK Göteborg. København will enter the UEFA Cup in the second qualifying round, to be played over two legs on 11 and 25 August.

High hopes
The 31-year-old Allbäck, who has scored 23 goals in 50 games for Sweden, was available on a free transfer. The former AS Bari, SC Heerenveen and Aston Villa FC forward said: "I am coming to a very good side, with a good coach and I'm sure we will be able to have a successful season."

Prolific scorer
His new Nigerian team-mate Ijeh, 28, has joined København after two successful years at Göteborg, having previously been Sweden's top scorer in the 2002 season when he struck 24 goals in 20 appearances for Malmö FF. Meanwhile, 30-year-old defender Peter Christiansen has left København to sign for Helsingborgs IF.
