Portuguese UEFA Cup hopefuls Vitória SC have signed Polish international striker Marek Saganowski from Legia Warszawa for an undisclosed sum.
Despite finishing fifth last season, the Guimaraes-based side scored just 38 goals in 34 games. They will hope that Saganowski, who struck 14 goals in the Polish Ekstraklasa last term and has registered twice in 14 appearances for his country, can add an attacking edge to the team's strong defensive play.
The 26-year-old was on target again on Wednesday, scoring in Legia's pre-season friendly against German outfit Bayer 04 Leverkusen in what was his final match for the club. He now has two months to settle in his new surroundings before Guimarães enter the UEFA Cup first round.
