CA Osasuna have secured the services of Club Atlético de Madrid midfield player Marcelo Sosa on loan for the new campaign.
García replacement
Osasuna have earmarked Sosa as the ideal replacement for Pablo García who joined Real Madrid CF last month. The 27-year-old Uruguayan international joined Atlético on a three-season deal last summer from FC Spartak Moskva but failed to settle in with the Rojiblancos.
Option to buy
However, he did manage 28 league appearances in his first and only season in the Spanish capital. Osasuna have secured the first option to buy the player and in the meantime, will share the responsibility of paying his wages with Atlético. Their third UEFA Cup campaign begins in September's first round.
