Wilson tied to Tannadice

Dundee United FC wing-back Mark Wilson has signed a two-year contract extension with the UEFA Cup contenders.

Dundee United FC wing-back Mark Wilson has signed a two-year contract extension with the UEFA Cup contenders which will keep him at Tannadice until 2008.

'No doubt'
The talented 20-year-old had been linked with Scottish giants Celtic FC in the close season, but following his signature on a lengthened deal he said: "I don't think there was ever any doubt on the part of both sides that I would be staying on, and I'm delighted at the outcome."

High praise
United manager Gordon Chisholm was full of praise for Wilson after he had tied his immediate future to the club: "Mark has been with the club for a number of years and is a credit to himself, and the club, in every respect. He has exactly the right attitude and has a big future in the game." United face Myllykosken Pallo-47 in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup and travel to Finland for the first leg on Thursday.
