Juan ruled out of CSKA test

Bayer 04 Leverkusen will be without defender Juan for at least two weeks after the Brazilian international pulled a thigh muscle.

UEFA Cup contenders Bayer 04 Leverkusen will be without Juan for two weeks after the defender pulled a thigh muscle.

Muscle complaint
The Brazilian international sustained the injury in Wednesday's 2-1 derby win at home to 1. FC Köln and had to be replaced by Ahmed Madouni 18 minutes from the end. Scans on Thursday revealed a thigh problem that will sideline the 26-year-old for at least a fortnight.

'Obviously a blow'
Juan will miss Leverkusen's trip to Werder Bremen on Saturday and the return leg of the UEFA Cup first-round tie at PFC CSKA Sofia next Thursday. "It is obviously a blow but Ahmed Madouni did well when he came on for Roque Junior against [MSV] Duisburg [on 18 September]. I am sure he will do the same for us again," said caretaker coach Rudi Völler.
