Knee trouble sidelines Sá Pinto

Sporting Clube de Portugal forward Sá Pinto is expected to be out of action for at least a fortnight having sustained an injury to his left knee.

UEFA Cup absence
The former Portuguese international was injured during Monday's 2-1 defeat at CD Nacional, where he was forced to leave the field in the second half. Although the problem is not thought to be serious, it will prevent the 32-year old from facing Halmstads BK in the UEFA Cup first round second leg next Thursday, with Sporting leading 2-1 from the first match in Sweden.

Beto back
Meanwhile, Sporting centre-back Beto has returned to training and could feature in Sunday's Liga game at home to fellow UEFA Cup contenders Vitória FC. Beto suffered a blow to his left fibula three weeks ago. Coach José Peseiro is still without the services of midfielder Custódio and full-back Edson.
