Hamburger SV will be without defender Bastian Reinhardt until the new year as the 29-year-old requires thigh surgery.
The 29-year-old defender will have the operation in the Swiss city of Basle today after scans revealed he had damaged a tendon in his right thigh. Reinhardt has been sidelined since the end of September, having played just four Bundesliga matches and one UEFA Cup game this season. He said: "I hope I will be able to return in time for the start of training after the winter break."
