Bolton Wanderers FC have completed the signing of Omani goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi, subject to gaining a work permit.

Historic landmark
The 23-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the English Premiership outfit, joining from SFK Lyn Oslo after three years at the Norwegian club. That spell saw him become the first Oman player to play professional football in Europe, and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce was delighted to welcome him as the first professional Omani player in England. "Ali has a massive presence and will add much needed competition in a key area," he said. "He aspires to be a great keeper and we'll give him the platform he needs to become a respected player in the best league in the world."
