Hyun wings in to set Russian first

International winger Young-Min Hyun will become the first Korean to play in the Russian Premier-Liga after joining UEFA Cup hopefuls FC Zenit St. Petersburg.

Versatile performer
The 26-year-old has moved on a free transfer and agreed a two-year contract, with the possibility of a 12-month extension, to become the first Korean player in the Russian Premier-Liga. Hyun, a versatile performer who can operate on either flank, will link up with his new team-mates at a pre-season training camp in France this weekend.

Attracting attention
One of Hyun's team-mates at Ulsan, 21-year-old midfielder Ho Lee, is also interesting Zenit. Both players hope to represent their country at this summer's FIFA World Cup finals. Zenit are rebuilding for the start of the 2006 season in March but will first face Rosenborg BK of Norway over two legs in the UEFA Cup Round of 32.
