Zenit opt for defensive reinforcement

UEFA Cup hopefuls FC Zenit St. Petersburg have made their third signing of the winter - capturing Czech defender Jaroslav Nesvadba on a four-year contract.

FC Zenit St. Petersburg have signed Czech defender Jaroslav Nesvadba from FK Jablonec 97 on a four-year deal.

Third recruit
The 23-year-old has made 39 league appearances since joining Jablonec from SK Semily two years ago, attracting the attention of Zenit who handed the promising centre-back a trial. He duly impressed, and now becomes the third new arrival at the Petrovsky stadium following the signings of Korean Republic midfielder Young-Min Hyun and 18-year-old Russian starlet Oleg Samsonov. Nesvadba could make his debut against Rosenborg BK in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 next month.
