Injuries ravage Lokomotiv defence

FC Lokomotiv Moskva defenders Vadim Evseev, Marián Had and Dmitri Kruglov are all major injury doubts for the UEFA Cup tie against Sevilla FC.

Defensive crisis
Evseev, Had and Kruglov have been forced to leave the Russian club's winter training camp in Spain to seek treatment. Had has flown to Bratislava to undergo therapy on a knee injury, Kruglov is hoping Moscow specialists can ease a thigh problem, while Evseev is in Stuttgart for tests on a cartilage complaint.

Sychev position
All three players look set to miss the games against Sevilla on 15 and 23 February, along with striker Dmitri Sychev who will not be back in time from the operation he had after tearing knee ligaments in August. The 22-year-old Russian international faces stringent medical examinations in Germany with view to returning to action in late March.

Minor problem
Midfielder Vladimir Maminov is still training on his own with a less serious injury but should recover to feature in the first leg against Sevilla.
