RCD Espanyol have handed midfielder Moisés Hurtado Pérez a new three-and-a-half year contract as they look ahead to their UEFA Cup last-32 tie against FC Schalke 04.
The Catalan side have been eager to tie their best homegrown talents to secure contracts as they aim to protect their investments, and the 24-year-old – who spent last season on loan at second division CD Eibar – is the latest to benefit.
Coach Miguel Ángel Lotina has welcomed Hurtado into the first-team squad this term, giving him 14 league appearances. In the UEFA Cup, he has played five times, scoring in the 1-1 draw against Italian club US Città di Palermo.
