Eight waiting in the wings
After Liverpool FC, Olympique Lyonnais, AJ Auxerre and AEK Athens FC on Tuesday, yesterday it was the turn of Kyiv, Maccabi Haifa, RC Lens and Club Brugge KV to finish third in their Champions League first-stage groups and thereby qualify for the UEFA Cup.
Draw at 12.30CET
The draw takes place at 12.30CET on Friday, at the Noga Hilton Hotel in Geneva, immediately after the draw for the UEFA Champions League second group stage. In accordance with the club coefficient ranking list, the 32 teams will be divided into four groups of eight teams.
Third round dates
Two pots are prepared for each group, one for the seeded clubs, and the other for those that are not seeded within the group. The pots and seedings will be determined after tonight's second round second-leg matches. The dates for the third round are 28 November (first leg) and 12 December (second leg).
