Ertl aids Austria's evolution

FK Austria Wien have signed 23-year-old international defender Johannes Ertl from SK Sturm Graz on a two-year contract ahead of their UEFA Cup entry.

FK Austria Wien coach Frenkie Schinkels has added an international defender to his squad with the capture of Johannes Ertl from SK Sturm Graz.

Austria debut
The 23-year-old signed a two-year-deal with the Austrian champions just a month after making his debut for the national team against Hungary. Wien sporting manager Peter Stöger said: "Ertl is tall player with a strong fighting spirit who can play on the right wing and also in central defence. He has developed very well in recent years and is a paradigm of our strategy: young and dynamic." Having been knocked out by SL Benfica in UEFA Champions League qualifying, Austria face Legia Warszawa in the UEFA Cup first round on 14 and 28 September.
