The 25-year-old has penned a contract until 2011 and will strengthen the back line of a Parma side struggling in Serie A - Stefano Pioli's men lie second from bottom - but still alive in the UEFA Cup where they face SC Braga in the Round of 32 next month. Perna had played 15 games for Modena this season, his third with the club after previous spells at AS Livorno Calcio and US Salernitana Sport.
