More Dury duty for Zulte Waregem

Francky Dury is to go full-time as coach of SV Zulte Waregem after signing an improved five-year deal, meaning an end to his other career as a policeman.

Impressive rise
The 49-year-old has combined the roles of Ghent detective and Zulte Waregem boss since joining the side in 2001, but having guided the team into the last 32 of the UEFA Cup, he will now go full-time as coach on 1 March. Dury has committed until 2012 to the Flanders outfit, whom he has guided from the Belgian third division to UEFA club competition in just six seasons at the helm. His next challenge is to prepare the side to face Newcastle United FC in their Round of 32 first leg next week.
