Swedish central defender Johan Mjällby will miss both legs of Celtic FC's UEFA Cup fourth-round tie against German side VfB Stuttgart through injury.
The 31-year-old will also miss Sweden's 12 February friendly international against Tunisia after tearing a thigh muscle during his team's 2-0 win against Scottish Premier League rivals Dundee United FC last night. He is expected to be sidelined for a month.
Celtic, conquerors of Spanish challengers RC Celta de Vigo in the previous round, will entertain the 1. Bundesliga side at Parkhead on 20 February before travelling to Stuttgart for the return leg the following week without Mjällby, a player who has been missing for much of the Glasgow's club's European campaign this season.
The blond defender only returned to action in December after three months out following surgery on a cartilage injury initially sustained in a pre-season friendly against Saint Mirren FC. Mjällby will be striving to be fit in time for the next Old Firm match against leaders Rangers FC on 8 March.
