Adriano fit to face Espanyol

Sevilla FC's Adriano Correia will be fit to play in Wednesday's UEFA Cup final against RCD Espanyol after recovering from a pulled thigh muscle.

Sevilla FC midfielder Adriano Correia will be fit to play in Wednesday's UEFA Cup final against RCD Espanyol after recovering from a pulled thigh muscle.

Glasgow trip
The 22-year-old Brazilian hurt his left thigh during the return leg of Sevilla's semi-final victory against CA Osasuna on 3 May, and was forced to leave the pitch after 26 minutes. Having been told to rest for 12 to 15 days, his appearance in the final was in doubt, but he has now told coach Juande Ramos that he will be available for the game at Hampden Park, Glasgow.

'I was lucky'
"Everything has healed very fast and I was lucky the muscle didn't actually tear so I'm 100 per cent fit for the final," said Adriano, who played in Sevilla's 4-0 UEFA Cup final win against Middlesbrough FC last season. "It's one of those games when you want to do everything you can. It's our second final in a year and it would be very satisfying if we could repeat last year's achievement."

Espanyol threat
Adriano is expecting a difficult match against Espanyol, saying: "We always struggle against them. They have very fast strikers so we will have to watch out for their counterattacks. We'll have to keep calm, keep our rhythm and if we do that we will always get five or more chances to score. If we play like we have been doing all season, the title will be ours."
