Wisla and Lazio frozen out

The postponed fourth round second-leg tie between Wisla Kraków and S.S. Lazio will be played next Wednesday.

UEFA has announced that the UEFA Cup fourth round second-leg fixture between Wisla Kraków and S.S. Lazio has been postponed as the Polish club's pitch was deemed unplayable following an inspection.

New date
The match was perhaps the most eagerly anticipated of tonight's eight games following a thrilling 3-3 first-leg draw in Rome last week. It will now be played on Wednesday 5 March, with the venue to be confirmed tomorrow afternoon.

Freezing temperatures
The pitch at Wisla's stadium had been covered by snow and ice for much of the week prior to an effort to clear it yesterday. The surface was subsequently deemed playable but conditions deteriorated following Lazio's training session and the freezing temperatures which gripped the city last night.

Quarter-final opponents
The winners of the tie will meet either SK Slavia Praha or Besiktas JK in the quarter-finals. The Czech side won the first leg in Prague 1-0.
