Atlético allowed to register Cléber

Colombia defender Luis Perea has received Spanish citizenship, enabling Club Atlético de Madrid to register recently signed Brazilian midfielder Cléber.

Colombia defender Luis Perea received his Spanish passport on Thursday, enabling his employers Club Atlético de Madrid to register recently signed Brazilian midfielder Cléber as their third and final non-European Union player.

Cléber move
The 28-year-old Perea has taken Spanish citizenship three years after moving to Atlético from Argentinian side CA Boca Juniors. His new status will allow Cléber to play for Atlético, with the 26-year-old having until now been ineligible for action because the club already had three non-EU players in their squad. Cléber, signed last season, had duly been loaned to Santos FC. Perea has made 93 league appearances for Atlético.
