Argentinian forward Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is heading south from Atalanta BC to join Serie A rivals ACF Fiorentina on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Lecce loan

The 21-year-old moved to Atalanta two seasons ago from CA Huracán and made three substitute appearances in 2005/06, scoring once. Loaned to US Lecce last term, Osvaldo enjoyed a more profitable campaign by finding the net eight times in 31 Serie B games. Fiorentina, who sold their star striker Luca Toni to FC Bayern München this summer for €11m, will enter the UEFA Cup in the first round on 20 September.
