Cacia, who turns 24 on Thursday, has scored 32 goals in 65 matches over the course of two seasons, and has been allowed to continue his development with the Serie B side before making his move to Tuscany in January. Fiorentina, who have already signed strikers Arturo Lupoli and Christian Vieri after selling Luca Toni to FC Bayern München this summer, have also allowed Piacenza to keep 50 per cent of Cacia's registration. The Viola will begin their European involvement in the first round of the UEFA Cup after finishing sixth in Serie A last season.
