Switch means Lazio start at home

S.S. Lazio will now play the first leg of their UEFA Cup quarter-final against Besiktas JK at home.

Wisla defeated
Lazio won through to the last eight last night by defeating Wisla Krákow 2-1 in Poland to secure a 5-4 aggregate triumph and a meeting with the Turkish league leaders. They were scheduled to play the second leg against Besiktas at home on 20 March, but UEFA has switched the tie because AS Roma play AFC Ajax at the Stadio Olimpico in the UEFA Champions League the previous night.

Thursday matches
If Roma had been scheduled to play Ajax on the Tuesday, then the UEFA Cup game could have gone ahead in the Italian capital two days later. Besiktas will now head to Rome for their game on 13 March, before entertaining Lazio at the Inönü stadium the following Thursday. The kick-off time must be confirmed to UEFA by next Monday.
