FC Spartak Moskva have been struck by a double injury blow after Welliton and Martin Stranzl were both taken off during the side's bruising 1-1 draw with PFC CSKA Moskva on Sunday.

Further tests
Brazilian forward Welliton lasted just 15 minutes before limping off with a thigh injury and Austria international defender Stranzl made a bad afternoon on the injury front worse 13 minutes from time when he went off with a leg knock. They will undergo further tests over the next few days but the early prognosis is that Welliton is out for two to three weeks and Stranzl could be sidelined for a month. The news means both are doubtful for the first leg of Spartak's UEFA Cup first round tie with BK Häcken on 20 September.
