Ščasný in for Zajíc at Mladá Boleslav

Luděk Zajíc has paid for a disappointing start to the season as coach of Czech side FK Mladá Boleslav, who have replaced him with the experienced Zdeněk Ščasný.

Slow starters
After finishing third in the Czech 1. Liga last term under Dušan Uhrin Jr, Mladá Boleslav's 2007/08 campaign has been lacklustre in comparison with just one win in five league games. The end for Zajíc, who had replaced Uhrin when the latter left to coach Romanian club FC Politehnica 1921 Stiinta Timişoara, came after his side conceded a last-minute goal to draw 2-2 at SK Dynamo Ceské Budéjovice on Sunday. Mladá Boleslav, who follow Ceské Budéjovice as the second Czech team to change coach this season, are seventh in the table.

Impressive CV
Ščasný has a wealth of coaching experience, having worked in the Czech Republic at AC Sparta Praha and FK Viktoria Žižkov as well as in Greece with OFI Crete FC and Panathinaikos FC. The 50-year-old coached FK SIAD Most for three months last term and will now encounter his former charges in the 1. Liga this weekend. Mladá Boleslav face US Città di Palermo of Italy in the UEFA Cup first round on 20 September and 4 October.
