Full-back Jérémy Mathieu will miss Toulouse FC's UEFA Cup first round tie against PFC CSKA Sofia after fracturing a bone in his foot.
The 23-year-old picked up the injury in the French side's 4-0 UEFA Champions League third qualifying round defeat at Liverpool FC and will undergo surgery on Monday to correct the problem. He will be out of action for six weeks. Mathieu received his first international call-up for France last month and should be available for the UEFA Cup group stage should Toulouse overcome their Bulgarian opponents.
