FC Bayern München talent Toni Kroos has signed his first professional contract with the club, agreeing a deal until summer 2012.

Extended deal
Kroos's old contract was signed by his parents and ran until 2011 but, after turning 18 on 4 January, the German youth international agreed a one-year extension. General manager, Uli Hoeness, said: "He is now 18, now his signature has a new meaning. He now has a real first team contract."

Youngest ever
The midfielder had joined Bayern from the FC Hansa Rostock youth team in 2006 and so far has played four times in the Bundesliga and three times in the UEFA Cup. In the group stage, a late Kroos free-kick in added-time brought a 3-2 win against FK Crvena Zvezda. Aged 17 years, eight months and 22 days, he became Bayern's youngest ever Bundesliga player. Bayern meet Aberdeen FC in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 in February.
