FC Groningen central defender Arnold Kruiswijk will join UEFA Cup contenders RSC Anderlecht at the end of the season when his contract with the Dutch club expires.
The 23-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with the Belgian champions, having been associated with Groningen – known as the Pride of the North – since he was just 13. A first-team regular since the age of 18, Kruiswijk recently became team captain having proved himself at international level in helping the Netherlands win the 2006 and 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Championships. Sixth in the Belgian league, Anderlecht meet FC Girondins de Bordeaux in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 on 13 and 21 February, playing the first leg at home.
