FC Spartak Moskva defender Roman Shishkin will miss both legs of the UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie against Olympique de Marseille after undergoing groin surgery in Germany today.

The operation will sideline the 21-year-old right-back, capped once by Russia, for an indefinite period. Shishkin has made four UEFA Cup appearances this season and also featured in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round defeat by Celtic FC. The club have not announced when they expect him back in action. Meanwhile, Spartak have had better news concerning 29-year-old Lithuania defender Ignas Dedura, who has resumed training following injury and may be available for tonight's first leg in Marseille.
