Klaus Allofs has extended his contract as sporting director of UEFA Cup challengers Werder Bremen for three years until summer 2012.
'Easy decision'
The 51-year-old former Germany striker has overseen professional football at Werder since 1999, working in tandem with coach Thomas Schaaf to win the domestic double in 2003/04 and earning four consecutive UEFA Champions League campaigns. Allofs, who had been linked with a similar role at FC Bayern München, said: "In my heart it was a relatively easy decision. The talks in recent days were just fine-tuning. The prospect of moving to Bayern was never a really big one."
