Slavia success
The 19-year-old Necid, who has scored five goals in 20 league games for Slavia, as well as five more in 13 matches on loan at FK Jablonec 97, will move to CSKA next year after agreeing to stay on with the Czech champions. Necid helped the Czech Republic finish as semi-finalists at this summer's UEFA European U19 Championship on home soil, and as runners-up in the U17 finals in 2006. He won the title with Slavia last season. Slavia will play in the UEFA Cup first round after losing their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie to ACF Fiorentina. Since Necid was involved in that fixture, he would not be able to play in the UEFA Cup for CSKA next spring, regardless of whether he now features in the competition for Slavia. Rule 17.18 of the UEFA Cup regulations states that in order to be registered for a new club, a player's "former club must not have played in the UEFA Cup at any point in the current season".
