AS Saint-Etienne have reacted to their slow start to the French Ligue 1 season by signing Belgian international striker Kevin Mirallas for an undisclosed fee from LOSC Lille Métropole.

Four-year deal
Mirallas, 20, has agreed a four-year deal with St-Etienne, who after yesterday's 1-0 home defeat by Olympique Lyonnais have only three points from four games this term. A youth product of hometown club R. Standard de Liège, Mirallas joined Lille aged 16 and went on to make 76 league appearances, scoring ten goals, as well as gaining experience in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup. Capped eight times by Belgium, Mirallas helped his country to the Olympic semi-finals in Beijing. St-Etienne, who have also managed just two goals this season, begin their first UEFA Cup campaign since 1982/83 when they face Hapoel Tev-Aviv FC on 18 September and 2 October.
