NAC swoop for Vos

NAC Breda have continued their UEFA Cup preparations by signing striker Henk Vos.

NAC Breda have continued their preparations for next season's UEFA Cup by signing striker Henk Vos from rival Eredivisie club RBC Roosendaal on a one-year contract, with an option for a further year.

Out of contract
There had been some doubt surrounding the transfer recently. The 35-year-old Vos was out of contract at Roosendaal, but the club claimed they had reached an oral agreement with him about extending his stay. Vos denied this and signed a deal with NAC, who have qualified for European competition for the first time in 30 years after finishing fourth last season.

Transfer completed
With his future in limbo, Vos declared: "I did not reach an agreement with Roosendaal and if there is too much trouble made I will quit football for good." Today though it emerged that Roosendaal have admitted defeat and allowed the completion of the deal.

Career details
"NAC Breda have been told by RBC that they will allow Henk Vos to go to Breda without any sanctions," the club said on their website. Vos started his career with Roosendaal in 1984 before moving to PSV Eindhoven a year later. His career also led him to R. Standard de Liège, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, Feyenoord before a return to Roosendaal in 2000/01. In total he has played 424 league games and scored 127 goals.
