Southampton FC today completed the signing of Oldham Athletic FC's highly-rated centre-back Fitz Hall for an undisclosed fee.
The deal was put in place on Friday evening when the 22-year-old travelled south to agree personal terms and have a medical. Manager Gordon Strachan stayed behind to talk to Hall while the rest of the squad flew to Scotland for their pre-season training camp.
Saints chairman Rupert Lowe told his club's official website: "He [Hall] is a talented young player who will add to the strength of our squad. There were a few clubs in for him so we are delighted he has chosen to come here."
Hall joins defender Darren Kenton and midfield player Leandre Griffit as the English club's summer signings ahead of the new campaign, in which they will compete in the UEFA Cup. Kenton arrived from Norwich City FC, while 19-year-old French prospect Griffit was signed from Amiens Sporting Club Football.
