International appearances
Palacio, 27, has signed a four-year contract with the Grifoni and will compete for a starting place in attack with fellow summer recruits Hernán Crespo and Sergio Floccari. Capped eight times by Argentina, Palacio joined Boca in 2005 from CA Banfield, scoring 55 league goals in a four-year spell which yielded the Apertura title in 2005 and 2008, the Clausura in 2006 and the Copa Libertadores in 2007.

Other arrivals
Genoa – who enter the UEFA Europa League in the Play-Offs as a result of their fifth-placed finish in Serie A last season – have also signed Robert Acquafresca, who will play on loan at Atalanta BC, Francesco Bolzoni, Houssine Kharja and Ivan Fatić.
