Amelia is a product of AS Roma's youth system and joined Palermo from AS Livorno Calcio last summer. Capped nine times by Italy, the 27-year-old has also played for Parma FC and US Lecce in Serie A. Genoa, who finished fifth last term, begin their UEFA Europa League bid in the play-off round on 20 and 27 August, with the draw on Friday. They have already signed Rodrigo Palacio, Hernán Crespo, Houssine Kharja, Alberto Zapater, Sergio Floccari and Andrea Esposito this summer. Rubinho, who turned 27 on Tuesday, joins Palermo after three seasons at Genoa where he played 37 times in Serie A last term.
