Frings was taken off after 71 minutes of the 2-2 draw and the spell he will spend on the sidelines is uncertain at present. However, Schaaf admitted: "He will be missing for quite some time but we will do everything we can to decrease the time of his absence as much as possible." Bremen face FK Austria Wien in Thursday's UEFA Europa League Group L meeting, with the northern club leading the section on seven points from three matches.
