Sporting Clube de Portugal striker Liedson has taken the chance to undergo knee surgery during the Portuguese Liga winter break. Sporting confirmed on Tuesday that the operation on the 32-year-old striker had been a success. He is likely to be out of action for a month and should therefore be available well before Sporting's UEFA Europa League round of 32 tie against Everton on 16 and 25 February.
