UEFA Europa League contenders FC Salzburg have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of the Austrian Bundesliga's leading scorer, LASK Linz forward Roman Wallner.
'Great opportunity'
The 27-year-old arrives for an undisclosed fee having scored 14 goals in 17 league appearances this term, and will meet his new team-mates for the first time at their winter training camp in Belek, Turkey on Saturday. "At my age it's a great opportunity for me to take another step in my development," said Wallner, capped 27 times by Austria. Dietmar Beiersdorfer, the Salzburg sporting director, added: "I don't think anyone can question the qualities of Roman Wallner. We are glad he is able to join in our preparations and are convinced he will be a great asset to our team." Salzburg, the only club to win six out of six in the group stage, play R. Standard de Liège in the round of 32 on 18 and 25 February.
